9-3-11...9:10a...A Turkey Vultures with its wings spread out...I've seen them sit like this many times but this is the first time I've ever gotten a picture of one. They do this for several reasons...to warm up their bodies after a cold night, to dry their wings in damp or rainy weather or to "bake" off bacteria. This was taken early in the morning so I imagine it was warming itself. [P9039385]
