A page for the lei I made during the whale-watching cruise. The journaling tag is from the kit seen on earlier pages.
I love the metal-rimmed acrylic word tags; I backed them with white mulberry paper. I had some clear rectangular frames, and put a picture of my lei hanging up behind it. There are two pictures of me in some other frames; at the corner of one of them I used a pink flower rub-on, with an orange/yellow plastic gem in the middle.
In the center is a shaker box filled with dried petals from the lei. I'm aware that this is not an acid-and-lignin-free thing to do, and I'm okay with that. The box is backed with the torn edges of mulberry paper, and the box came in a set from that scrapbook garage sale. (So did all the mulberry paper I've been mentioning - a 5"x6" container crammed full of mulberry paper strips, only fifty cents.)
At the bottom is one of the cards left on our bed each day by housekeeping. Each one was about a different Hawaiian thing - aloha shirts, the ukulele, etc. This is the one about lei-making.
