10-11-11...6:50p...The smallest full moon of 2011...the Hunter's Moon. In terms of apparent size, it will appear 12.3 percent smaller than the full moon of Mar.19. [PA112578]
With the leaves falling and the deer fattened, it's now time to hunt and lay in a store of provisions for the long winter ahead. Since the fields have been reaped, hunters can ride over the stubble, and can more easily see the fox, as well as other animals, which can be caught for a Thanksgiving banquet after the harvest. October's Moon is also known as the Travel Moon and the Dying Moon.
