Tammy explains, “One of my all-time favorite BasicGrey products, no matter what collection is the background solids. I love making photo frames and often use the solids for covering the frames. I love that while they usually have a pattern, it is subtle enough to accent my photo while not competing for the focus. The solids in the Out Of Print collection are no exception. For this frame, I wanted to build on the brush stroke pattern by adding random stamping in a monochromatic color theme. I inked the large background stamp with a complimentary ink color and then used a dry towel to randomly wipe away the ink along the outer edges. This allowed me to add random stamping to the frame surface without it being a block-like shape. I repeated the inking and blotting several times for different areas of the frame. For a second stamped element, I stamped the small circular dragonfly stamp on another piece of pattern paper and punched it out with a circle punch. I layered the stamped element on the center of a Bowtie Sticker. I really love that the frame is visually interesting while still being simple, allowing my photo to really be a focus.”
