I was so proud of this LO when I finished it. took me about 5 hours to complete.

Journaling Reads:

My niece, Heather, was just 16 years old when she passed away. I have many heartwarming moments I remember with her, There was 12 years between us, but we had a lot in common.

We shared a love of horror movies. I can remember when she was just 6 years old and watching a movie called Phantasma. She came up to me all excited because one of the characters' eyes had exploded.

when she was 12 years old she wanted highlights in her hair. So I went out and bought a frosting kit. I spent a couple of hours pulling strands of hair through the cap. I neglected to read that I should use every 3rd to 4th hole and used every hole. As we went to remove the cap her hair was so tangled that we had to rip the cap apart to get it off her head. by the time we got the hair all untangled, she had a pile of hair the size of a grapefruit that had been pulled out due to this fiasco.

All these are heartwarming memories to me but the most heartwarming moment was when Heather lay in intensive care. I spent hours brushing her hair and talking to her. I wanted to make sure that her beautiful hair did not become so tangled again. I also helped the nurses to bath her. These acts helped me to say goodbye to her and let her know that is was O.K. for her to let go. Heather never regained consciousness in the 2 weeks that she was in the hospital. I really don't know if the things I did helped her, but I want to believe that I let her know in those moments how much I loved her and would miss her.
