Just a 'little' Christmas present to our parents this year... Yes, that is an ultrasound of a 13-week old baby!!! Our first, due June 20th and the first baby born on my side of the family since my 27-year-old sister was born!

We found out in mid-November, but were only 10 weeks along then. So we decided to wait until I was out of the first trimester when miscarriage is less likely. (My mother had had several before she had me so I was nervous about that.) And then we thought, well that's only a couple more weeks until Christmas, so why don't we just make the announcement a Christmas gift and find a fun way to tell both parents then! (We actually broke down in early Dec and told our two sisters, so they already knew and were dying to tell, but never did!) So I came up with the idea to alter two frames, place the latest ultrasound inside and wrap them up in big boxes as gifts. I chose to make the frames Christmas-themed so that they could each use the frame every year for a new grandbaby picture.

This one is for my parents in Seattle. We wrapped it in a Macys gift box and told them they had to open this one last. We set up a Skype account so we could open presents together (and so we could see the reactions!) since this was the first time we hadn't flown to Seattle for Christmas in probably 5 years. I used the RV paper behind the photo to tell them where this baby was 'concieved' - in THEIR RV on our road trip in Sept!! Going to be a looong-running joke and they loved it! Needless to say my BIL is keeping my sister FAR away from the RV for a few years... ;)
TFL!
