wow-this is so gorheous, Peggy-the trees are fabuloius and I just love those pivecones; they look so REAL!! Glad the tree-cutting experience went well;you've captured they day so beautifully here!
So artistic and creative! Those trees are amazing! Your pine cones are so realistic! I wanted that die, but Archiver's sample looked icky. Guess they need you to do their samples! Funny story, what a difference a year makes!
As some of you may remember, last year's Christmas Tree Hunt didn't go so well, with a cold and tired Sophia finding that Daddy killing the Christmas tree was the last straw!!!! This year went so much better, with an older and happier girl who actually wanted Daddy to cut down more trees!!! I created this layout for the Swirly Hues: a challenge that is held every month by Swirlydoos and is open to all; use of kit materials is not required. I made my own mask with the Tim Holtz Pine Tree die and did some ghost stamping with a stamp from his Reindeer Flight set, using Lindy's Stamp Gang mists to make the background. For the foreground trees, I followed Camilla's Mica Chipboard tutorial (http://www.swirlydoos.com/page.php?82 ) using Lindy's Magicals. Some burlap, some twigs from outside and a few pine cones from my new favorite die along with a bit of Prima packaging and a bit of twine helped me keep this pretty simple.
