A 2-PG LO I created this weekend of my DH's 45th B-Day. It was such a fun party. I created the basket weave paper and added gold Stickles to the seam joints. I created the crown shaker box in Inkscape and cut in SCAL2 and used Melody Ross bling to decorate it. I cut the Ravie TTF and Fleur-de-lis using SCAL2. I should add, I do not like working with the DCWV chalkboard paper - it's hard to get anything to adhere to it, including any size of zots, recollections photo corners or any type of ZIG glue AND, real chalk doesn't really work well on it either :( maybe crayons would work better.

As far as the 'birthday breakfast of choice' that I mention - on each persons birthday, they are allowed to choose a sugary cereal of choice, these special birthday days are the only days I allow sugar cereals in the house and the caveat is that they must share with everyone - I'm such a mean mom :)

The journaling reads: 'We had a blast on Brent's 45th. I found a recipe for 'Kings Cake' and decided that we should have a Mardi Gras style party for him. The kids got up at 5:30am and shared Daddy's birthday breakfast of choice - 'Captain Crunch' cereal. He enjoyed having the kids kick off his special days' festivities with him. After the kids got off to school, I made the cake, which is really just a large cinnamon roll. After school, the kids and I decorated the house with green, gold and purple balloons, Mardi Gras confetti and beads and each of us wore a purple and gold hat. We made a roast beef and Yorkshire pudding dinner, as per Brent's request. Harry Connick, Jr. was playing on the stereo when Brent came in the house after work. The kids presented him with a plush crown to wear for the evening. Brent's birthday present from us was 'outer space' blue fleecy footed pajamas - too cute. After we finished our cake, the whole house turned into a disco as the kids got a hold of the Sonos! Happy Birthday B! January 31st, 2012" - TFL
