this is stunning. Love your handmade flowers, and I think you are brilliant to make your own shimmer mist :) Such a beautiful photo, and thanks for sharing your Grandmothers story
Beautiful bride..GORGEOUS lo!! These pps work beautifully with a vintage photo!! AWESOME job on your misting and distressing...love the cord around the chippie!! xox
Oh my goodness! what a photo but a tragic end. I did a photoshoot at that very loacation - Maplewood Park last fall - still is a gorgeous place. Your LO is magical and really transports us to that time in history with the colors and the vintage feel.
WOW! The lo is so BEAUTIFUL! What an amazing picture! Everything is just perfect! From your story is sounds like that saying, the more things change the more they stay the same! Fav!
This is my interpretation of the Scraps of Darkness February 2012 Sketch by the talented SUEPUP!
The BRIDE featured in this photo is my maternal Grandmother, Marion Foster. This was her first marriage. It was unfortunately short-lived. Her husband came home one day and told her that he didn't love her anymore and wanted a divorce. This photo I believe was taken at Mapledale?? Park in Rochester, NY right next to the Driving Park Bridge and across the Genesee River from one of the BIG KODAK sites. I really adored the pictures and I thought they would look perfect with the papers in this kit. Her marriage to my grandfather took place in Reno and was not nearly as glamorous, I plan to scrap that picture someday too. Her bridesmaids I think are her best friends and the Dehollander cousins.
When I got this kit I made 2 homemade bottles of shimmer mist to match it. One is a shimmery bronze, the other one I call shimmer patina because it is basically green with gold highlights. The circle is chipboard from Technique Tuesday, I misted that with both colors then I used an embossing pad on it and sprinkled it with gold embossing powder and hit it with the heat gun. Then I wrapped the gold satin chord I got from my Scraps of Darkness kit around the chipboard. All of the flowers got misted with both mists. After I distressed the edges of the photo mattes I misted the back along the edges to get that same color on them. The broach is nestled in a ribbon flower I made on the fly. The butterflies are from the wonderful and multi-talented Reneabouquests! Thank you for that! I hope you like it and TFL!!
