Journaling: Week 4: January 22-28
Sunday was really just another day of being thankful for life and the little things that make that life so great. With the goodies that David's mother brought over after the accident we had plenty to eat and no reason to leave the house. Bring on that lazy Sunday! I got a lot of scrapbooking accomplished and of course made time for some cuddle relaxation with David. We did attempt to do some car shopping via the internet but the options were so many that we couldn't search for long before getting overwhelmed. No big hurry anyway as I'm still in no shape to drive again. Sweets joined in our lazy day affair and we all enjoyed our day together. Monday was my last day of leave from work so I planned on making the most of my time. I alternated between scrapping and relaxing throughout the day. My body still feels achey so lying down every so often helps ease the pains. Being home was definitely a great thing as I happened to catch a shot of a beautiful rainbow that seemed like it was right in our backyard. It made me want to go searching for that pot of gold! In just a few hours it's going to be bed time for me and then it's back to work. Tuesday finally arrived and with it came reality…work was still waiting for me as it was before the accident. With us now having only one car David has assumed the role of my personal chauffeur, taking me to and picking me up from work. How can I complain about a handsome man driving me around though? Luckily his job is very accommodating to our situation or else we would be in a serious bind. It was actually good to get out and back into the swing of things but I couldn't help but tense up every time we passed the site of the accident. We watched the new season premiere of Face Off on SyFy channel tonight. It's about professional make-up artists facing challenges that have them creating everything from monsters to aging people and even plant/animal hybrids! It is amazing how they make everything come together. Wednesday was another relax day while David worked. I got Week 3 of Project Life done and organized my most recent pictures. Thursday we got up and ready early because we had to drive to Fairlawn to meet the insurance adjustors about our car. The office building was really beautiful with super cool all glass elevators! The insurance claim was handled pretty quickly (mostly since David had everything they needed already together) and soon we were walking out with almost $4,000! Not bad considering we paid $10,000 for it five years ago, it was a ten year old car AND this was after our deductible and final car payment had been subtracted. As we were already in Fairlawn David took me shopping to my favorite…Home Goods! We hit several other places there as well as in Canton on our way back home. We made sure to get the check deposited then made our way home to enjoying the rest of our day off together. Friday can be summed up in three short phrases: felt very sick….long work day….went to bed early. Saturday I used David's Keurig machine to enjoy some Caramel Drizzle coffee before work which helped my morning wake up a lot. David took me to work and when he picked me up I had a little lunch surprise made for him. He works so hard and hardly stops to eat anything during the day. After he dropped me off at home I caught these amazing clouds right as the sun poked its head around the edges. Hello rays of sunshine! That night we cuddled up to the movie “Hereafter” starring Johnny Damon. Of course I cried, but how can I NOT cry when it was all about death AND love. It made me hold David all that much tighter all night.
