Journaling: Week 8: February 19-25
Sunday was a cold but sunny day so we decided to give our Outlander its first bath. We cruised on down to Waynesburg and bought some Armor All wipes for the interior then rolled on over to the car wash. We decided to do the wash ourselves instead of the automatic kind because we were worried it might hurt our newest addition to the family. After a thorough vacuuming we pulled into the bay and David got to washing. I worked on wiping down the interior but still took time to get some pictures of David while he cleaned the exterior. The Outlander looked so much better all clean and shiny. On the way home we stopped at the scene of my accident to see if we could find any car pieces still there to keep as mementos. David actually found the Toyota emblem from the front of the car which was amazing! It will make a perfect reminder of how lucky I am to be alive each time I look at it. Back at home I decided to make us a spaghetti dinner while David baked us some garlic bread of his own. I think it actually tasted better than the store bought kind! Monday was a basic day: worked on Project Life during the day, warmed up more delicious spaghetti for dinner, and got some major cuddling in to our favorite shows off the DVR. Sometimes basic is better than the rest. Tuesday I got home from work to find my new Cameo waiting for me on the porch… *Woot Woot! This one actually works too! My scrapbooking groove instantly came back to full strength. David and I watched “Zookeeper” starring Kevin James which had the perfect amount of comedy and romance to both of us to give it a good review. Wednesday I “convinced” David that Taco Bell sounded good for dinner (which means I mentioned wanting tacos and he instantly went to Taco Bell). He loves to make a run for the border. When he got home he told me how a guy walked up to him in the car as he was getting ready to leave work and asked him to spare him some money. When David told him that he doesn't carry cash (which he doesn't, he's strictly a plastic man) the man had the gall to ask if David would get some out of an ATM for him! Simply amazing what some people will do. Thursday we took a trip to Alliance because I learned that Staples was carrying Martha Stewart scrapbooking supplies and the only Staples around was there. David decided to take a scenic route to Alliance which had us passing thru some very quaint little hamlets. Each one had very old but picturesque buildings. When we reached Alliance I quickly found out that I am in love with Staples. Not only did they have a long two-sided display of Martha Stewart goods but they also had a lot of other great-buy type items, from Keurig refills to ink and toner cartridges to a slew of clearance bins. We are definitely going back there soon! Since the cupboards were looking kind of bare we stopped at Giant Eagle and stocked up on groceries. Hello fuelperks! We had a surprise waiting for us in the field just south of our house. 15 turkeys were just sitting in the open for us to clearly see. We stopped so I could try to catch them gobbling on my iPhone but they retreated to the forest. I guess these turkeys are camera shy. Friday arrived on the back of some very strong winds gusts that had the power flickering in the house several times. It also managed to cause a traffic jam in front of the house by blowing one of our neighbor's trees across the road! Two school bus drivers and an older gentleman tried to move it by hand with no success so they used a bus to push the tree off the road enough for them to pass by. They also managed to get by the tree by putting one tire into our front yard! When I told David this he immediately had me call the township to have them get out there and clear that tree. He told me to tell them we have photo evidence of the school turfing our yard! Hopefully they come out soon so he doesn't start suing people. :) Saturday at Subway is always fun, especially when a man walks up to the counter and orders 25 foot long subs. Not joking here, 25 subs! My manager and I both thought he was joking and laughed a bit before realizing he was completely serious. That order alone wiped us out of bread AND meat in one fell swoop. Hopefully this doesn't become a habit of his on Saturday or else Andrea might start catching a regular case of weekend flu! I took a nice hot bath when I got home then David and I cuddled up to watch a scary movie called “Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark”. Believe me, after watching it there was no fear of the dark because every light in the house was turned on!
