What a precious expression on her face! And such a great name for a kitty! We have a cat named Alpo! (her first owner named him after dog food...sigh!)
Beautiful page, and I really enjoyed reading your description. I love all the pages I see using the Scraps of Darkness Kits!
She is absolutely beautiful and so is your lo!
Did you know that it's fairly common that white cats with blue eyes are deaf? I don't know why, but I saw that on Animal Planet.
LOL. Of COURSE she smells tuna! One look at that photo, and you KNOW it's tuna! What a great photograph, Sonja! She's a darling cat. Very photogenic. Charming page!
what a great page, and Gabi is gorgeous; bless you for giving her a good home! Love the layers, inking and misting! So funny that she can always tell when it's dinnertime...
i've heard white cats have a tendency to be deaf; weird....... i had to laugh when i saw this; i can so relate, having 3 cats; as soon as they hear dishes clanking, they come running! what a sweet kitty and an absolutely adorable lo!!!!!!!
Oh my goodness this is just adorable Sonja!!!! Love your little kitties pic, it's just too cute!!! I haven't tried my hand at water distressing yet. Can you point me to a tutorial on this technique? I'd love to try it one day. Again beautifully done!!!
This is tooooo cute! Love the look in her eyes! Ya, the deafness goes with the blue eyes with pure white kitties. I used to have one that loved to watch TV. She's sit there for hours! It's nice that they can live in their own world and it's a good lesson to all of us that perfection doesn't mean we have to be like everyone else! Cause I think she looks perfect! Fav!
LOL, love this layout and the cat's face is priceless! We had a white cat like that years ago that was deaf and I found out from the Vet that a lot of times white cats will be deaf as they are like albino's and can be either deaf or blind. The cat got out one day and ended up mating with our neighbor's white cat. She ended up having 6 kittens, 5 white ones and 1 ginger and white one. All five white babies were deaf and the ginger one was fine.
For the Scrap Your Pet Challenge (w/ twist: buttons) as well as the Too Cute Challenge over at Scraps of Darkness. I used almost exclusively from the fabulous February 'Victoriana' kit at Scraps of Darkness. This kit was just sooo gorgeous, chock-full of the fab Printery papers from Prima, Madame Boutique papers from Kaisercraft, plus lots of vintage-inspiring embellies and add ons. Love it!
I did also use a few rub-ons, ribbon tape, a Prima flower and the wood letters that I got at the Expo last month... because I was dying to use them! :)
This is our nutty, opinionated little deaf kitty, Gabi (Gabriella). We adopted her off the streets in October when she was maybe a month old and we learned fairly quickly that she was deaf. It doesn't affect her that much, except she has zero concept of volumn control and has no idea an emphatic hiss from our older cat Luci (Lucifer) does NOT mean 'let's keep playing!' LOL (I love that her eyes have stayed blue and her pink ears nose and paws!) That said, she's very intuitive about most things - she usually beats Luci to the front door before we get home and can smell an opened can of cat food (specifically seafood such as tuna) from upstairs under the bed with the door closed and candles burning! DH caught her in the act of sniffing one night as I was preparing to feed our little angels. We call it the 'What? Is that din-din?' look, but that looked ackward on the page so I changed it to 'I smell tuna'.
Had lots of fun distressing, inking and misting this page - my hands were brown and gold when I was finished! I water-distressed the brown paper and the blue doilies, which are fussy-cut from the Kaisercraft paper. Thanks for looking!
