We decided to distract the kids from what they wanted to do...go swimming at the local water park. They quickly became enthusiastic bakers. The girls chose snickerdoodles...yumm. I think they ended up wearing more flour than they put into the cookies.
Since the pictures could not do justice to the flour concept, I made paper dolls. This was a first. I really enjoyed the process once I got past the drawing of the faces. The pages are a general progression from winter to spring like theme. Dolls are cricut, Everyday paper dolls. The cookies, mixer and recipe pocket are silhouette. While I have not given up my cricut yet, the silhouette is really growing on me. The cut is so much better.
A few years ago I bought my sister in law a kit to scrap a cook book. I think I am going to start scraping our favorite recipes. I want my children to have memories tied to their favorites. I have a box full of my grandmothers recipes. I wish I had more. I know that she got this recipe from so and so. But I do not know the story behind the recipe beyond the obvious.
