That twine & the old trim beneath it & those flowers, really give the final touches! And the frame you made was perfect for that era!!!
Fantabulous!! ~ As you always seem to do on these lay outs!!
This is a winner to me! Love your design, layering, techniques...the entire piece!!! I just love looking at it --- its so pleasing and soothing to the eye!
wow - you are the Queen of the Heritage page with the most amazing details. Your little touches of this and that, lace and trim, gold leaf and twine just make utterly spectacular. I am always enchanted with the way you extend the photo into the page with your layers and cutwork. You have a masterful mind. fav
I don't know how you do what you do but you do it perfectly! This is stunning and I love the poppy seeds. Your photo's are gorgeous. When I see old photo's I try to imagine how I would feel wearing high collars, high top shoes, corsets, ect. I think I would look stern too.
OMG!!! This layout is ablolutely fabulous!!! The techniques and elements you've used here are awesome!!! Their photo is amazing for it's age! I love their clothing and poses. Just to own a photo like this, WOW!!!! Wonderful creation, definitely a fave!!!
Stunning work Natalie! Love the different shades of green and bronze, all the techniques you used, and the frame looks great! fabulous job... your family album with all these heritage pages must be breathtaking! hugs
Stunning doesn't quite describe my feeling when I look at this, I'm just blown away by your layers of paper and lace and (especially!) the wonderful job you did creating your background paper!!!!
This is a photograph of my paternal Great Grandparents, Ovila and Octavie Gagne (nee Breault). They had 15 children, but only 7 survived to adulthood! They looked so stern in this photograph, especially Octavie, that I decided to give them a little a little glamor treatment, I felt they deserved it! So I made this background paper and turned it into a frame that I felt was befitting of the Gilded Age, the era this photo was taken in. I used molding paste to create the pattern and then used gold leaf powders to sprinkle over the paste, creating the ornate gold frame. I distressed it a bit with sprays and inks. Also used items from my stash of old laces and trims. This is my entry for the March heritage challenge, the twist being use green.
