Thursday, September 29th, 2011 – the morning was nice – we actually won a placed in trivia! After lunch at the buffet on the Lido deck the seas started getting very rough.

Then the day got really bad. Fifteen minutes after Bill went to the hot tub my gall bladder decided to get angry; I don't recall ever being in such intense pain. I left a note for Bill and Mus, our room steward helped me walk to the medical center to meet with the doctor.

After blood work and shot of dilaudid, an incredibly strong pain killer, they told me that if my gall bladder did not calm down by morning I would be airlifted off the ship to the closest country – Russia. Even worse, they said that area in Russia was not a good place for gall bladder surgery, I would have to get from Russia to South Korea.

Bill found my note and immediately went to the medical center. Fortunately the dilaudid had started working but unfortunately it was making me completely dizzy; the room was spinning out of control. I was taken to my room in a wheel chair – the doctor did not want me to try to walk under the influence of this strong pain killer.

Besides being dizzy from the pain shot, the seas were very, very rough. The pain killer made the room spin like an out of control merry-go-round and the rough seas made the ship rock left and right and pitch front to back. The double whammy of motion from turbulent ocean and nausea from the medication eventually left me with a horrendous case of sea sickness. It was a miserable night!

Friday, September 30th, 2011 – Bill went to the doctor's office as soon as it opened at 8AM and told them that my gall bladder was not hurting but I was seasick so they gave him a suppository for nausea for me. I had an appointment to see the doctor at 10:00AM and after using the suppository I really felt better. In less than 5 minutes I wasn't seasick anymore and my gall bladder didn't hurt.

I rested while he went to noon trivia and lunch. After trivia at 3:00PM, he came back to the room and curled up with me and we both slept from mid-afternoon right through the night; when we woke up it was Saturday mid-morning.
