This is the first page of an album I'm finally starting for my husband's family. These are his paternal great-great grandparents. Photo was taken in apprx. 1880 in Norway. Ola and Kristensa had 11 children, 2 died in infancy. The three children in this picture are believed to be the youngest: Elling, Kari, and Hansine (she went by the name of Sena). From the information I have, it appears they settled in the area of Vik, Sogn, Norway which is along the western side of the country. Ola passed away in February 1888 from TB and is buried in Norway. Kristensa passed away in May 1920 and is buried in New Auburn, WI. He was 59 and she was 89. It would be interesting to find out when and the exact reason why she immigrated to the US, although I'm certain it would have to do with her husband passing away at such an early age.

I have placed a gem on the map to the apprx location of Vik. The map is said to be from the 1880s.

John's cousin, Deb, is the family historian. She provided me with the ahnentafel report and many wonderful pictures. She did all of the research and digging herself. I am eternally grateful for her dedication and hard work in bringing the John's family their heritage. TFL!!
