Don't you love it - the USPO. My brother's b'day card took 2 weeks to get from Hornell, NY to Pittsburgh, PA which is a 4+ hour drive. I was in the dog house as it was his 60th b'day and they thought I'd forgotten him. The thing was that I did have enough postage on the envelope. You can only wonder where it was for those 14 days.

Thanks Pam. I recently did wedding invitations and told the bride to make sure to have the envelopes hand-stamped and the Post Office said they don't do that. The envelopes didn't get marked but the bow was smashed. Hard to see after all that work! Glad your friend finally got her card.

That's why I always have my handmade cards hand stamped. Or put at least around 70cents of stamps and write in red, NON MACHINABLE. The slightest little bump will throw those machines off and spit out your card.

So, I guess the post office was trying its own creative 'stamping' on your envelope! So glad your friend finally got the card. And, so sorry to hear of her loss. Such a pretty envelope too!

Oh dear! I worry about that sort of thing happening! I usually put two stamps on. But I still worry about the mechanical sorting machines etc. and occasionally wonder if they ever arrived. So many of the prettiest cards in the gallery are decorated w/lovely flowers, pearls, bows, & are quite layered, and I debate w/myself whether its at all practical to try to mail them....that said, I'm glad you finally got it to where it was meant to go! I have that cute stamp, love it!

aaawwweee- that stinks!! I have to say , I always put 2stamps on mine or have the post office hand stamp it!! Such a pretty pretty envelope, shame on the post office!!! Hey girlfriend-how are you & all your furry family members?
