I decided to do a layout using the Sizzix Bigz Hanging Sign die and of course I can't seem to create anything without including the Rosette flowers and one of my favorite dies, the Tattered Pinecone.
I cut out the sign part with chipboard or grungeboard and my patterned paper. This wood pattern paper from the My Mind's Eye Miss Caroline Fiddlesticks collection was my inspiration for creating something with this die.
Using a few different colors of alcohol ink, (I used Pitch Black, Lake Mist, Snow Cap) I lightly dabbed them on the metal piece. I used the Snow Cap at the very end, and it gave the metal a purple tarnished look. Glue your patterned paper to the sign, add your title and ink the edges with light brown ink. I then covered the whole piece with Rock Candy Crackle Paint and set it aside to dry. Once it was dry, I lightly dabbed Distress Stain around the edges and in a few places on the sign. Use a heat gun to lightly heat set the stain into the cracks. Next, attach eyelets to the two pieces and link them together with rings.

The center of my background paper was wood, but I wanted something softer, so I cut it out and used this polka dot paper behind it. I stitched it around the outside edge and inside edge. Ink the edges with brown ink and curl the inside edges. Adhere your hanging sign next to the edge.
Now for the flowers! Make your rosette flowers and add brads to the center. When I'm using the Pinecone die as a flower, I've found that if you bend the end pointy parts or clip them off, your flower will lie flatter. Also, using a rounded end from a stylus, curl your petals to give them more of a rounded look. I trimmed the petal edges of this flower with Platinum Liquid Pearls. The small flowers and swirls were hand cut from patterned paper and the centers dotted with liquid pearls also. The ticket was cut from the Sizzlit ticket strip die and used for journalling.
Cut out rectangle pieces of patterned paper and adhere to your background. Add in your two matted photos and then glue down all your flowers. It's hard to see in the photo but I did place very small dots with the Liquid Pearls all around the edge of the lace on the paper. Once I started adding it on my flowers, I couldn't stop!

I hope I have inspired you with my layout! Have a great day!
