Oh my goodness Vickie you did an amazing job on this canvas! You certainly wouldn't know it was your first time working with this medium! I love the picture of your mom and the vintage doily, flower work and fantastic butterfly all add up to one beautiful creation!!!
Oh my! I love all the flowers! you did a great job! I am 100% thrilled with it! The lace came out perfectly and I love the butterfly at the top! Very nice!
You did much better than okay...this is absolutely GORGEOUS!!! Love it...flowers, butterfly with bling and all that so fabulous lace!! The earthy tones are absolutely perfect for the photo...if they were on the same table they would have been reaching for each other! This is a beautiful and so very elegant heritage creation!! xox
This is my first attempt at an altered canvas. The adorable picture is of my mom, about age 10 (1940). I first put a coat of acrylic paint on the canvas, let it dry, and inked the edges. Then I decoupaged the papers and photo to adhere them, but decided I really didn't need to do a topcoat. I started using craft glue on the embellies, then figured out it was easier with the hot glue gun! The gold leaves are from an old silk flower I cut up to use the parts separately. The two large button flower centers on the right are earrings I picked up at the thrift store for $1.00. The lace doiley in the left bottom corner is from a yard sale. The lace was in my stash, I stained it with coffee. I can't say I'm 100% thrilled with it, but for a first attempt working with this medium I think I did ok!! And it was a lot of fun! Thanks so much for looking.
