The quote framed at the bottom of the page..."I want to lead a Victorian life, surrounded by exquisite clutter." (Freddy Mercury) Was my main inspiration for the design of the page. The gold frames and elements of the G45 Parlor Wall paper really seemed to fit that description. The quote was used as a status update on facebook by Mina herself...and you can see "Porcelain Vampire" at the bottom of the photograph which was there when I downloaded it. Also when she agreed to let me use her images to scrap, I asked her if there was anything she would like to see in a layout...she said she liked shiny, pointy things and sanguine ankhs (that is what the cross is with the loop at the top). Mina is very goth and I don't know how well the butterflies are going to go over with her but I thought they went well with the page. Needful Things, the march kit from Scraps of Darkness is what I used to make this layout...the kit is amazingly versatile...I had no problem putting together a goth layout! I intentionally made it look cluttered but I did a lot of fussy cutting because I didn't want it to come out looking like a collage I did in art class. The metal flower to the left of the photo was actually an earring that came out of a box of broken jewelry my friend won in an auction lot. The leaves are attached to it and decided to just leave them there. I stamped the uncovered corners of the top left and bottom right, but I had already distressed the paper so it didn't show up very well. I stuck ticket stickers over both sides but now I see that one must have fallen off before I was able to take the picture. TFL!
