This photo is of my grandmother and me on a gondola in Venice in 2003. This was my first trip outside of the U.S. and I couldn't decide on just ONE place to go, so I did one of those London-Paris-Lucerne-Venice-Florence-Rome all-over-the-place trips. It was exhausting, but fabulous to see so many of the places I had dreamed of for so long. My husband wasn't interested in traveling, but he suggested I ask my grandmother and to my surprise, she didn't hesitate for a second! It was great to see all of those places with her, and I don't need to tell you how amazing it was to take a gondola ride through Venice!
