Sorry these are so dark, IRL they are lighter blue. I made the wire letters myself.

Journaling reads:
On Nov 8, 2004, I had to have surgery. When I was pregnant with you, I started having pains in my upper right side. The doctors kept thinking it was liver failure from being pregnant, but the lab work always came back fine. So they dismissed it as normal pregnancy discomfort.

Once you were born, however, the pains never went away. They just got worse. We discovered it was my gallbladder, and I had to have surgery immediately.

We arranged for your Uncle George to take care of you that day. We had to be at the hospital very early, like 5AM, so we dropped you off on the way to the hospital. I had to hold back tears.

You had a wonderful day with George. He took these beautiful pictures of you while you were sleeping, and then passed them on to me. They are some of my favorite pictures!

Your Dad and I convinced the doctors to let me come home that night. You did so wonderful and I was so thankful I did not have to worry about you the first time I had to be away from you.
