Journaling: On March 14, 2012, Ken was playing hockey and began to feel ill and went home. When I got home from work a few minutes later, he was uncharacteristically complaining about not feeling well. He said he felt pressure in his chest, was clammy and, honestly, he looked awful. I took him to the emergency room. The doctor said they were going to keep Ken so they could keep a watch overnight. A little after 4:00 a.m., I got a call from Ken saying they were taking him by ambulance to Petoskey to install a stint. I followed the ambulance, the procedure took less than an hour, less time than it took to get down there. The next day, we met with all of the doctors and the nurse who had been present in the operating room. Ken had a myocardial infarction, a heart attack that is nicknamed “widow maker”.

He is doing extremely well and the prognosis is good. Everyone at every stage of the process did exactly what they needed to or I would be telling a completely different story. This picture was taken the day after Ken got home from three days in the hospital. We were both pretty pleased to be at one of our favorite places which happens to be in our backyard.
