Wonderful lo!! Love the colours...so soft! Your matchbook is beautiful, and the paper tearing adds adds texture. The bird cages are awesome and a superb job of finishing the DA! xox
Only for you would I stand up and practically stand on my head to read your journaling...Your aunt reminds me of Aunt Bea from Andy Griffith show. Beautiful page for your "jailbirds".
Wow! I'm glad you "soldiered on" because you made a fabulous page!!! Those "torn" type circles are amazing, and the journaling incorporated around them is inspired! That matchbook and photograph are both wonderful!! A favorite, and you should have entered!!
I love CSI. CSI challenges push me to create a page, inspires me to be more creative and more importantly to journal my story. I was never big on journaling (too lazy) but I can see the importance of them and they are now part of my creative process as well. I struggled with this sketch and even thought of throwing the page away because the empty spaces bothered my eye. But, I had invested so much time on it and I do like certain aspects of it, so I soldiered on to complete it, but did not enter it in the challenge. The bad sketch was a learning lesson for me.
Bird: Dusty Attic bird chippie all dolled up with Gesso and crackle paint. I combined some Moonshadow Mist and a gel medium together and then rubbed the combination into the crevices of the crackle to bring out the crackle effect. Close up picture is available on my blog.
This is the first matchbook I've made on a page. In the end, I think I made it too large but I see that they can be very useful, and I can imagine some more creative possibilities for them. I think you'll be seeing more of these from me. They're like mini ATC's but more purposeful as they are another place to store some journaling. I was able to get several pages in this one. Some photos might be fun to add too.
