So this actually isn't the costume I'm wearing for my solo in the studio show. I do believe this is the third version of my solo costume. The first costume we picked they couldn't get in my size...the second one was just ugly...this one is a nice costume, in the picture but it doesn't dance well at all. The tail bit (the bit I'm holding) is so long that I got my pointe shoe stuck in it while I was practicing. That kind of spelled the end for this costume. It's never a good thing when you get tangled in your costume, even in practice. I'm actually wearing a black costume to dance in...one that's a lot nicer and that I don't get all tangled up in. It seems like every year there's another issue with the costume for my solo! This year's solo, my instructor decided, was in honor of my mom (I'm dancing to one of her favorite Neil Diamond songs) who's supported me through all the stuff at the dance studio and outside of it. No pressure, right? Just have to make sure the dance is perfect for my mom AND my instructor...but mostly for my mom.
