I've had this LO in mind since I took these pics - oh my - 4 years ago. Happy to finally get to it. My friend Darla has a get together up in Eagle River, Wisconsin out on the ice every year for her birthday in January that she calls the Ice Fishing Jamboree. These pics are from January 2008.

Journaling says: Ice fishing in Lake of the Hills for Darla's 29th birthday with her, Josh, Nate, Chris, & Scotty. I made my first catch through the ice, and had my first snowmobile ride. Darla & I found deer tracks frozen in the ice.

The snowman fishing through the hole in the vellum is an idea I got from an OLD Lasting Moments magazine. I paper pieced the snowmen. There are fish stickers on the bg under the vellum to show through the 'ice,' and the vellum is a swirl pattern like marks from ice skating. The fishing pole, fish, water drops, and bobber are old Creative Memories stickers. I used thread for fishing line. The ice skating snowman has brown 'Y's for arms, and I cut the ice skates from a reduced color copy of some 3Birds stickers I had that were too big. I used old tree border stickers between the white and blue along the top to look like the bank of the lake. I love how that came out. I punched the edge of the light blue circle of the journaling block with a Martha Stewart corner punch - I was pleasantly surprised that it actually came out right. I punched the green strips along the side from scraps to go with the greens in the trees.
