In October I love to put Hilda and Maltilda at the table with their goblets with spider webs and black widow spiders on them. They also have matching shot glasses and dishes now too as well as black chargers to go under their dishes and a red vase that always has a dozen long-stemmed black roses.
Their platter matches their goblets and has a border of spider webs and black widow spiders and they have a matching bowl which is large and holds all the candy for the trick-or-treaters and sits on the table before Halloween.
SOmetimes they play cards at the table and sometimes they get table settings with silverware and napkins but they are usually there throughout October in their beads and bracelets and treasured mardi gras bangles. And they are never without their beautiful hats!
One day I walked by and took a double-take. James was sitting in the middle of their platter - what a great photo op!
Then he curled up in the platter for a nice long nap. In fact he slept in that platter every day that October and did that for many years. Now he lives with my son and the platter is here and I really miss that cat curled up in the platter, just doens't look right.
