This is amazing. My FIL was in Korea during that time as well, but in the Air Force. I just received pictures and am looking for ideas to use to make the family scrapbook... hopefully it will honor you if I "borrow" some of your ideas...
I,m sure your dad was guiding your hands on painting the jeep. What a wonderful lo. My dad was in the Korean War too, he was a cargo pilot. Who knows maybe they were friends, I'd like to think so :)
Oh this is so awesome and creative! Love all the old photos that tell their own story, your jeep technique work and all the wonderful details! So a FAV!
wowsa and then some Vickie! This is probably one of my most favorites of yours! Perfectly done - captures the era perfectly! Sorry I'm late in commenting, was on vacation for the last 10 days!
This is so wonderful, I don't know where to begin. That photo is priceless! LOVE the jeep, textured pp, dog tags, all the wording, and your rocked that camouflage!!! Great job and I think your dad would have gotten a kick out of the whole thing!!! LOVE it!
How did I miss this amazing page? I don't know!!!! The photo is a real treasure, Vickie! You scrapped it to perfection! I love the colors and your distressing! This is what scrapbooking is all about!
WOW Vickie!!!! I am so totally in love with this! What great great photos of your Dad! He was one handsome Dude! Awesome that you added the Courage defination! Fab rugged manly feel here! Fav for me!
This is absoluterly stunning! At the moment in SA Fox Retro is showcasing reruns of the old M*A*S*H tv series, and I love every episode. Though it's supposed to be funny, the focus on the bad side of wars in general is quite touching. Glad for your sake that you dad made it alright. Love the jeep, the title and the quotes. Really a wonderful LO.
Oh now - that jeep is TOO cute! Clever you - alter it to look like the real deal. How smart was that???? What a great trio of photographs. And they're so well preserved. My dad's Korea photos are pretty tattered.
perfect colours.... love the camouflage look background, and the jeep looks awesome. wonderful photos and heritage LO! your dad would be so proud of this page!
It's great Vickie! You did a great job with the camo! Have you every been to the Korean memorial in DC? It is the best of all. Also the marine museum in Quantico Va. is great. Took my Dad there a few years ago.
Thank you for posting this LO. I have such a hard time coming up with different LO for the military. This is wonderful. Great job!! Love the jeep and the colors!!
Wow, Vicky....an awesome page, what a wonderful composition, so artfully arranged and with great embellishment and distressing!!! Very striking!!! Perfect color choices too!! Love it!!
Pics of my Father in 1951. He was a Marine in the Korean war. Lots of distressing, inking and painting on this one. The jeep is an OLD die cut (originally tan in color) that I painted and inked to give it the camouflaged look. My Dad restored old military vehicles in his later years - I think he would have gotten a kick out of the paint job on the jeep. Again - this is ALL from my stash. And my submission for the June Heritage challenge. TFL.
