This is a lovely tribute to your Dad. He was a handsome young man, look at that "all-American" school boy grin! Love the story behind the photo and all the patriotic details. I agree with Vicki, scrapping is individual, we all have our own style and preserving memories is not about 'fancy' or 'embellished', it's about telling your story in your way. Congrats on a great heritage lo.
Scrapping - It's all ABOUT preserving family history and memories - not about fancy "stuff" on the page. This is a wonderful lo - love that you were able to include a photo of the ship your father sailed on - it's those kind of details that make a lo so personal and special. GREAT JOB!!
You know, it's all about archiving YOUR photographs and memories, and nobody is going to know what anyone else did when they look at your book, because it's going to reflect YOU and YOUR talents. I agree that this is a great tribute to your Dad. Thank him for his service. I think we don't tell our men and women in uniform how much we value them - especially those from the Viet Nam era. That was a dark time in our nation's culture regarding the armed forces.
A very wonderful tribute to your Dad!! Neat old embellishments perfectly suit the photo and the tone of the page! Great that you added a photo of the actual ship he served on!
Nice pic of your dad and great embellies..there's a pic somewhere of my dad just like that. There is what's called a mothball fleet near where I live full of old vessels like that..I want to bow my head when I drive by there. Bless all those guys!..and gals.
I don't think one has to be fancy, Teia. This is wonderful and the fact you used the military items makes this much more valuable and memorable! Handsome young man!!! well as Betsey said...cute!
WOW I do love this.........IS your DAd still living????? What a cute Sailor he was!!!!! I love that you used the real embellies that is wonderful for a heritage page. What years was he in Korea.....or at least bringing our guys home. Great page Teia.
I am not as fancy with my layouts as some are... but I used alot of the OLD Navy and military items that were around during the old wars. This is for a challenge in the Heritage Group. Dad served on the USS Whiteside. That is an accual picture of it. It was decommisioned and sunk as target practice. My dad was very proud to serve on it.
