I had the mini poster of Edgar Allen Poe's The Black Cat for a while and used that as my inspiration. The background is made with paper scraps and acrylic paints and once dried applied gel matte mediim through a stencil/template. One the gel was dry I painted it with black acrylic paint. With a damp cloth wiped off the dried paint in certain areas. It makes great backgrounds.
