We set up the tripod on the beach for sunset photos. Backlighting? LOL! It wasnt deliberate. People have asked me how i do these backgrounds. Heres how: spray paper with water. Crumple into a ball, smooth out, let dry. I use texture paste, modeling paste ,to help make the surface. I use a palette knife to put it on but you can use anything, put it on with your hands if you want. I put it to the left and the right of the photo to simulate waves. I painted the paste with blue and white, it doesnt show much now. I sprayed the page, the page is originally teal, with blue. I put on layer after layer of clear embossing powder. In between layers ide put on gold embossing powder, copper pearlex, blue and purple pearlex powders. I left an area in the center alone to put the photo. I used versamark to put the emb powder on. I also rubbed gold acrylic paint lightly over the surface. I suggest you experiment on a small piece of paper with the embossing powder to see if you like it. There may be 8 layers here or more, i wasnt counting. I have the Melt Art Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel, 8 0z. I was blessed enough to be able to live a block away from the beach . My husband and i rented a very small house , we were there for 6 months or so. There's an earring at the bottom left from my sis, also more ab crystals on the bottom right on the lacing. The metal heart with wings is from walmart, at the bottom right. The owl charm is from Michaels, on the small purple flower at bottom right of pic. The title is gold embossing powder on a stamp that has the alphabet all over it. The sparkly bling to the right of big turquoise flower is from Hob lob. You might not be able to tell but the butterfly is about 1and 1/2 inches off the page. I put it on a coiled piece of wire. The butterfly is a glitter rub-on from Paper House Productions.
