your layouts are so exceptional..wow.love the pearls on the flourish, that little pleated element peeking out is such a pleasant surprise..Love the crumpled bg layer, and I am going to check into the paper bag flowers. so pretty
Oh my Pat.....this is gorgeous! I just love all the distressed layers and that accordion fold peaking out! Look at all the fussy cutting you did. Gorgeous colors....need I say more?
what a BEAUTIFUL collection of flowers - LOVE THEM!!! and an awesome lo. Love the colors, love the distressing and loved your description. Funny how our children (and our generation) survived without all that safety gear. Who ever would have thought to put on a helmet to roller skate "back in the day", unless you were in the roller derby? My how things have changed. Have we gotten smarter/safer or just more cautious?
This is my elder daughter and me at YMCA Camp Takatoka on a good old camp gelding named Patches. The year is 1983, Beth is almost 2, and it's her first time on the back of a horse.
There wasn't such a thing as riding helmets back in the day. It would never occur to me to put a child on a horse without one today, much less put the child on the horse riding double WITH me. Neither idea is safe, but back then, we just didn't know any better, so we did it.
When I taught my first Master Technique series for my LSS, I did a "show and tell" project along with my students so they could see how paper gutting, wet distress, mica powders, and paper bag flowers went together.
I didn't do all the steps to the MT project -- you can see that one on my "Porch Swing" layout. But this one is done enough to be done without any more fuss, so I'm calling it done and putting it in Beth's album so it's off my desk.
