Beautiful layout but it makes me sad too. They do look like they are in pain. I hate hunting for sport. I can live with hunting for food but for sport - just hate it. Nothing sporting about it for the poor lions.

It makes me sad too. You took such great photos that we can see the pain. The only thing I can say is these guys used a bow and arrow. Maybe the lion eat one or two of them. :)

Oh I hate to think of capturing lions just to release them for some kind of hunt...just makes me sick!

British Museum - Royal Lion Hunt

There is a room from the ancient Assyrian (now Iraq) palace of Nineveh (scene of the biblical flood but that is another layout) displaying carved frieze of a lion hunt - the pain is seen in the faces and muscles of the lions - it just made me so sad. They actually released captured lions, then hunted them and killed them for sport.
