very creative - I agree - every creation is a learning experience - good or bad - sometime you just have to try Love the photo on dress fabric, the feather, the perfect quote
Peggy, this layout is Fabulous and I loved reading your description! I love a girl who can look at herself honestly and openly!! BTW, you are no old dog, but those are some pretty happening new tricks-lol!
Your not an old dog...you're a cool cat! This is utterly amazing and the printed photo on dress pattern paper is so fascinating. Love your new techniques. They are postively puuurfect
Peggy, I play the "what if" game myself from time to time, but I don't think I've ever played it with such beautiful results. The photo on tissue paper is a leap outside the box that I doubt seriously I would have EVER been able to think up on my own! Clever you! I have gesso on my desk and I've been kind of looking for an excuse to attempt to play with it. Your layout gives me the courage to try! Thanks, girlfriend. This layout is inspirational!
Peggy!!!! I am an old dog, too, and need to learn some new tricks!!!!! I am in awe of your talent and creativity! This is just spectacular and very, very gorgeous!!!!
Well you rocked the multi media, Peggy. I have all the tools now but absolutely no confidence....was thinking of doing something along these lines for the challenge too but couldn't....this beautiful work of art is inspiring...I'm an old dog too...so maybe. Anyway I love the feathers both chippy and metal and how their flourishiness (new word) repeat in that flower...great colors and cool tools. Love how you printed your pic on a dress patters...who even does that....YOU do! and it looks cool! fave!

You inspired me tooo! I was talking about stepping out of my comfort zone on my next project. This treasure has inspired to to do so. Love the techniques and textures you achieved!!!!
Jan, who is hosting the August SGC at Swirlydoos, challenged us to scrap something that we've learned lately. For about a year now, I've been experimenting with a lot of different media and techniques and designs. Some of these "experiments" will not be discussed but even the fails were learning projects. And along the way, I've been playing "what if" a lot and learning that there is an untapped streak of creativity in me. I'll never be able to draw, I'm a total spaz who cannot keep an even tension when it comes to needlework, but I have learned that I do have this. And yes, it's possible for an old dog to learn new tricks!!!!!
Made on a canvas for stability, I've mod podged a background of 7 Gypsies tissue paper, then a distressed piece of PP that came with the August Swirly kit. And then I had some fun with gesso, mists, a Dusty Attic peacock feather, a quote that I printed out onto cardstock and lots of flowers and trinkets from the stash. The title is from KaiserCraft chippies that came with a long ago kit. They've been inked with Picket Fence distress, stamped and misted. The photo of "me" was printed on a piece of dress pattern and, like the tissue scraps, was adhered to the gessoed, stamped and misted surface.
