Jan, who is hosting the August SGC at Swirlydoos, challenged us to scrap something that we've learned lately.
For about a year now, I've been experimenting with a lot of different media and techniques and designs. Some of these "experiments" will not be discussed but even the fails were learning projects. And along the way, I've been playing "what if" a lot and learning that there is an untapped streak of creativity in me. I'll never be able to draw, I'm a total spaz who cannot keep an even tension when it comes to needlework, but I have learned that I do have this. And yes, it's possible for an old dog to learn new tricks!!!!!

Made on a canvas for stability, I've mod podged a background of 7 Gypsies tissue paper, then a distressed piece of PP that came with the August Swirly kit. And then I had some fun with gesso, mists, a Dusty Attic peacock feather, a quote that I printed out onto cardstock and lots of flowers and trinkets from the stash. The title is from KaiserCraft chippies that came with a long ago kit. They've been inked with Picket Fence distress, stamped and misted. The photo of "me" was printed on a piece of dress pattern and, like the tissue scraps, was adhered to the gessoed, stamped and misted surface.
