This is my version of Suepup's superb sketch for the August Scraps of Elegance "Summer Haven" kit. I used a variety of papers and embellishments from the kit to make this layout. This is a picture of one of my cats, Chanel, looking out the front window at some birds and a butterfly. He loves looking at birds and he makes this weird growling meeee-owwwwwwww when he sees them, but he hates actually going outside!
The birds in the light blue circle are rub-ons from the kit. The brown and blue birds are cool resist canvas cutouts from the kit that I painted with dye inks. I fussy cut the tree in the upper right corner within the base paper, and also punched within the base paper - which was the hardest technique for me on this layout, i.e., to keep it all intact within the existing piece of paper. I used brown and orange dye inks on another piece of paper behind the cutout piece of paper.
