Last Saturday, LesleyC, MelissaW, and I met in Niles, Michigan to scrap together. It was a great day :) We scrapped from store opening to closing and ordered in lunch. Lesley brought some of her fantastic cookies. Then we went out to dinner and did some shopping. I can't wait to do it again!

This is for the August One Month at a Time Challenge in which all the photos have to be from any August. This one, obviously, is from August '12. This is Week 3, which required:
1. a white bg and no patterned paper;
2. a self-created bg of some kind - I poured on black fabric dye (it's the stuff I use to dye Cassie's pointe shoes), splattered 3 GM's, and stamped;
3. a quote - I quoted Melissa, "Well I wasn't just there for the scrappin! I can scrap at home. It's the camaraderie and cookies that will bring me back. Every. Single. Time."; and
4. the names and date and details of the event - Mel's quote pretty much explains what we were doing there, and I wrote our names, place, and date on the left of the photo.

I decided to go all the way with the white cs, so besides the bg, I matted the photo and made the punched piece and flowers from white cs. I sewed buttons in each of the punched holes and in the flower centers. The quote is easier to read irl because the dye is more of a faded black, and the pen shows up better than it does in the photo of the LO.

White is such a pain to photograph - It looks pink and blue in this photo, but it is solid white cs.
