When my son was just a toddler, he was diagnosed with a severe speech disorder. At the time we had no idea what the future held... it literally took years before he was finally able to call me mommy. This layout is about the first time he ever said those three amazing little words "Love you Mommy"...

Journaling: I will never forget the moment you first uttered the sweetest of all words... "Love you Mommy" ...for any parent this is a moment to cherish, but for us it was monumental, for we had been waiting over three years to hear any of those amazing words. There were times early in your therapy that I wondered if you would ever be able to express yourself verbally, yet here you were saying the most beautiful words my heart's ever heard. Through tears and hugs I told you again and again how much I loved you, and again and again you said it right back. Since then you've learned so much, and I'm amazed by the things you say now... but my favorite moments remain those when you spontaneously wrap your arms around my neck & whisper, in your deep, sweet voice, "Love you Mommy". It never gets old, and I'll never take it for granted... so go ahead my beautiful boy... say it again... and again... and again...
