This was done for the Memorial Day e-cut challenge. I used parts of the Haunted Halloween e-cut. To make the slide mounts larger, I used a picture editing program and just copied and pasted them into a word document, then increased their size. The Frankenstein tag is actual size of the e-cut.

The Journaling says:
Derek....you did NOT want to go to the Toledo Zoo on the day I snapped this photo. I'm totally unsure to this day what set off your horrendous mood, but this picture says it all. It was a beautiful Sunday in June, the weather was comfortable, although the temperature was uncharacteristically warm for early in the summer. You, me and Grandma Southwick set off early in the morning for the hour-long ride to Toledo. You were very quiet in the car; I think you were playing with a hand-held video game. When we arrived at the Zoo, you seemed actually shocked as to where we were.

"What are we doing HERE?" you snarled. Grandma and I gave each other a puzzled look. You hadn't complained when the plans were being made, when we were all piling into the car -- picnic cooler and all -- or driving.

"We're here to enjoy a day walking around the zoo!" I said. "Let's go in before it gets too crowded." I was trying to sound chipper, although I knew by your tone I was facing a battle of wills.

"No. I'm not going in. I'm not leaving this car." Your stubborn attitude hung defiantly in the air and I was taken aback.

"Oh, come on, Derek. It will be fun. They have the new Africa exhibit and you love the gorillas." Again, trying to sound chipper. "No" was the only reply you gave. No reason; just no.

I tried bribery. "I'll buy you something from the gift shop." It didn't work and I started to get irritated. Grandma was already out of the car and halfway to the entrance. She's good at avoiding "scenes."

"Come on, Derek, we're here and you're going in." I finally insisted in my most authoritative tone. "You can't stay in the car."

"Well, we're only going to the Africa area and then we're leaving," you declared. I sighed.

The day went downhill from there. We walked around the Africa area, saw the new exhibit with the giraffes, and finally ended up on the train, where this picture was captured. As I took the picture, Grandma said something about not wanting to remember this particular day. But, I was unfazed.

Mood or no mood, I was getting a scrapbook page out of this experience!
