Wow, a project of love that will pay off big time in the future. Can't wait to see how the back yard develops. What do you do if no worms do their job?
The photo on the left is G's completed garden. We got a couple of trays of flowers that should last a month or so before our first frost. The stone walkway is made with stones she collected. The trellis will be covered in beans next spring. The bottom right is the plot before we dug it up. The top right is the west side of our back yard. Our soil is incredibly clayey. So we have weighted down cardboard boxes to retain moisture, break down and draw the worms up for a feast. By springtime the boxes will have helped up create rich, fertile soil to grow grass on.
