I love that poem, it's one of my favorites. I love the LO too it's beautiful. Incredible layering of the pps. I also love the info. The Phoenix zoo is involved in the breeding efforts of these Tigers and I admire their beauty very much.
Wow Lisa! Such fabulous photos of that cat! And what a beauty too! Your layout is perfect! And I really like how you did the jounaling! Love this, Lisa!
stunning and adding the poem was brilliant. I love the flower too. I am looking for an animal to sponsor this year for Christmas - it may just now be the Amur Tiger.
This is my last LO from our February 24, 2008 Brookfield Zoo visit.
These are photos I took of the Amur Tiger - formerly called the Siberian Tiger. Amur better identifies the area in which they are found in the wild: the region surrounding the Amur River in southeastern Russia and northeastern China. They are critically endangered - the next step is Extinct in the Wild. There are about 500 animals existing in the wild, but their genetic diversity is very low, which may escalate the effects of disease and genetic disorders on the population on top of loss from habitat destruction and poaching. Amur Tigers are the largest of all big cats.
This is for the October PageMaps, Etc. Challenge - Sketch 3.
Also for October Monochrome Challenge Color 1 - Jack-o-Lantern. No twist.
And October Multi Pic Challenge.
I kept this one simple to highlight the photos and to go with my Amur Leopard LO, which will face it in my album. I made the flower from flocked tiger print wire-edged ribbon and a tiger brad. The title is, of course, from William Blake's 1794 poem, The Tyger. I wrote the poem around the edge of the orange layers of pp:
Tyger! Tyger! burning bright In the forests of the night, What immortal hand or eye Could frame thy fearful symmetry?
In what distant deeps or skies Burnt the fire of thine eyes? On what wings dare he aspire? What the hand dare seize the fire?
And what shoulder, & what art Could twist the sinews of thy heart? And when thy heart began to beat, What dread hand? & what dread feet?
What the hammer? what the chain? In what furnace was thy brain? What the anvil? what dread grasp Dare its deadly terrors clasp?
When the stars threw down their spears, And watered heaven with their tears, Did he smile his work to see? Did he who made the Lamb make thee?
Tyger! Tyger! burning bright In the forests of the night, What immortal hand or eye Dare frame thy fearful symmetry?
