Wow, the grass really did turn her feet green, how wierd, lol. Thanks 4 the tip about the modeling paste. I have yet 2 try using it but would like to. Great job w/the sketch!! : )
I think the layout came out fabulous and you are being too hard on yourself! You rock everything you do anyway. I love paste and gesso. And I agree with NMscrapper. They are addictive!
Gesso and modeling paste are addictive, aren't they?! Green carpets notwithstanding, I love to mess with it. Your layout turned out beautifully. Lexie would be proud that you immortalized her grass stained paws!
This came out great even with all the mishaps! I love the modeling paste...it's something I've been wanting to try. I think this is just a darling lo...love her green feet!
I think it's darling! And I love the texture of the modeling paste -- sorry about the carpet, though. I feel like every LO I've touched this month has turned to you-know-what, so I know the feeling! But it turned out GREAT and since brown is a neutral, it could absolutely be used in the challenge.
great lo. looks like Lexie might have been part green martian. Love the modeling paste (something I haven't tried yet). Even after all the hassles/troubles - this came out wonderfully.
Despite all the troubles it is a lovely layout! I love the look of the dabber spots and the pretty title design! I may have to try out those dabbers some time...but only after I use my year old bottle of mist first, LOL!
Lisa, this is why I am scared to paint or try anything that involves "drying" time, lol! I am not down with uncontrolled outcomes :) I think the modeling paste looks really cool on here though! I like the dog house pp too
glad you finally got the bg finished. I think you did a great job for a first time try even though it took a second start! Kudos for stepping out and trying something new!
I applaud your use of the modelling paste - it frustrates me to no end. I love the pics of Lexie - I miss her so I can't imagine how much you miss her.
These are photos of Lexie from September 2009. She's at her bowl right after coming in from outside - the close up is of her white paws dyed green from the grass. Journaling says: Lexie always came in with grass stains on her feet after being outside in the freshly mown yard.
This LO turned out to be way more trouble than I anticipated for just some run-of-the-mill everyday pics. It was supposed to be for Monochrome Challenge Color 2 Gooey Ooze - with the twist to use modeling paste. I've never used modeling paste before, but I already bought some a while back. Perfect time to give it a try. Well, attempt one: the modeling paste came out great - I did this same pattern with no color - but then I tried painting the bg green. It was supposed to be somewhat sheer and messy - like grass stains, duh. What a train wreck. It was terrible, so I tore everything off the background and threw it out. Second try, I dyed the modeling paste first. I like it, but now my brown accents, which I used because there was SO much green on the first attempt, are too prominent for this to be a green monochrome. *smack forehead* SO, what I SHOULD have done was use green cs for the background instead of white, but I'm NOT doing it again! LOL On top of everything, I dropped my stirrer for the green paint on my carpeting. Overall, a fantastic experience. But, I did decide that I like to use the modeling paste :)
I used the October Monthly Sketch Challenge Week 2 sketch, and I did the twist to be messy (see above, LOL). I mixed Citrus and Bottle paints to get that shade of green and mixed it in the modeling paste.
