A DT-layout made for Petaloo. Petaloo and Graphic 45 has teamed up this week for a fabulous blog hop!
Christmas Eve is magical. I found this photo from Christmas Eve 2011, it's of one of my sisters and she is getting a minute to herself between all the eating and present opening (in Sweden we open our presents on Christmas Eve). This photo reminds me of all the magical Christmases we have had, my sisters and I. Now we are giving our own children some of that magic.
I just loved creating with the beautiful papers from Graphic 45, Nutcracker Sweet Collection, and the amazing flowers from Petaloos Velvet Holiday Collection. The deep red poinsettias are fantastic with these papers, they just pop of the page! The white forget me nots, the burgundy velvet hydrangeas, the large color me crazy canvas flower and willow vine really help the poinsettias to take the leading role in this composition. I love the combination of pink and purple with red and white, it's traditional and modern at the same time!
I made my layout really shabby, with lots of layers. The background papers were cut using a diecut paper as a template. Then I distressed the edges and painted them with gesso and texture paste. Beneath the photo I have several layers of patterned paper, doilies and Graphic 45 chipboard. I have also tucked some of the flowers beneath the papers, to add even more dimension.
