How interesting that you thought to include information about parental roles in this culture. I'm certain I wouldn't have thought to do that. The large picture on the right page is very interesting. Is that a wall that wraps around? I think I may have added a vertical arrow directly above the pic of the father pointing to it. I would have the base of it begin level with the top of the orange mat, and centered horizontally in the empty red space. I would have the point end just below the level of the last orange dot above the pic. I would have also considered moving the large pic to the left some and adding an orange mat (the same color as the Summer Palace mat on the left page) under the strip of pics on the right. In my opinion, the striped paper distracts some from the small pics when placed directly under them. These are just my ideas, though, and this is lovely as is. :) Thanks for sharing.

bj17 Yellow Boy

Many children in China are treated as their parent’s
treasure. I saw fewer children than I expected to see in
Beijing, but those I did see were well dressed and had
good manners. They appeared quite healthy and happy.
The parents and grandparents I saw were dilligent
caretakers who seemed to regard parenting as a privilege.

Notice that the man is carrying the child's backpack. In China, fathers are very active in caring for thier children.
