Vacation September 1997

Everything old is new again. Our bones feel more flexible and our muscles stronger when we share vacations with this blessed child. Everything is new for Leah. She takes life in big gulps. In that, she is just like us. She loves nature, being with her grandparents and chattering until midnight.

When we are with her, we are young again.

September 10, we had Larry’s fifty-first birthday
at Price House in Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary. We shared vegetable lasagna and cake with some of his seminarian friends. At Riverbanks Zoological Park and Botanical Gardens in Columbia, South Carolina, we toured the butterfly house and Leah bought a butterfly pin for her hair in the gift shop. Near Charleston, at Magnolia Plantation, she laid down on a big lawn with Grandma and looked up at the sky through a huge oak tree.
