could you recognize this landmark just by the color - officially called "international Orange"? :-))

An icon that owns its name to Captain John C. Fremont who compared the strait of San Francisco to the harbor of Byzantium - Golden Horn. The name Golden Gate was recognized by US Senate in 1948, a year before the Gold Rush in California started. It was a name well fitting for a symbol of hope to start a new life, strengthened later by an ambitious project - Golden Gate Bridge.
