Thanks, everyone, for your sweet comments. I am sure you are wondering why I ended up with those particular letters showing through. There was a purpose to the way I positioned the paper. My friend's initials are J K. Also, the grandson is named Joe and I think his last name also begins with a K but my memory is so terrible these days that I am not absolutely certain about that.
This is a card I just made for my friend from high school who now lives in Japan. She just became a grandmother for the first time on 12/13/12. They missed the 12/12/12 date by just a little bit.
I haven't been feeling well due to an URI and asthma flare-up so about all I could do was think about what I wanted to make. Then I was feeling well enough to pick out paper. This idea kept swirling about in my head and I happened to look on the web site for My Favorite Things in their Die-namics dies section and I saw a new die that would be perfect for what I wanted to accomplish. So, our next trip up by their shop I got it. It is called Die-namics Snow Drifts. I cut the paper slightly smaller than the actual card base so that I would have more of the alphabet paper showing through. This card also used papers by Recollections: Scribble Dots which is on top and Alphabets which is the bottom layer of paper. The teddy bear was an embellishment I had in my stash.
I used a "Congratulations" stamp from a Hero Arts set and it was stamped on a sentiment strip I cut using the MFT's Die-namics die set called Die-namics Sentiment Strips.
As always, thanks so very much for taking time out of your busy schedule to look and leave me comments. Have a Blessed Day!
