Our annual Christmas Tree hunt: this really was a perfect tree, found in a matter of minutes.
This is my entry for Heidi Kelly’s Behind the Mask Challenge that is being held at Swirlydoos. The idea is just that: getting behind the mask and getting good and messy and playing with “goop”
I have to admit that I dithered and changed my mind and dithered some more with this one. I knew that I wanted to use this photo, but I just couldn't think up a design that I liked until I saw Rae's latest technique video on You Tube ( https://www.youtube.com/?tab=m1) and her explanation of how she treated her chippie and I had an "aha" moment. I went through my DA collection and dug out Christmas Trees #2 package, pulled them apart and plopped on about 1/4 jar of glass bead gel. I had tried using it before and wasn't impressed by the transparent color when it was dry. But this!!!! The texture is perfect here and (not to brag or anything) the results are awesome!!!! I painted the trees with Olive Vine Silks and the trunks with Golden Bamboo Primary Elements mixed with water and gum arabic.
The masking was done with my Prima gate mask and molding paste; the "snow" is cheesecloth mixed with soft gel (matte); all goop by Golden.
The papers are from the December Believe kit; aren’t they gorgeous?
