Too bad the motion sickness affected you all during your trip. The scenery is beautiful and the interstate makes for a totally different experience. We traveled WV on dirt roads in the 60s and it was certainly scary on some sections, but gorgeous as well.
I see that you traveled over the New River Gorge. I just visited that placed for the first time this past summer. I am about three hours away from there on the Virignia side.
1970 family vacation. Route 60 took us across the center of West virginia. It was extremely twisty and curvy. One stretch alone had 156 twists and turns. At the end of the day we all we so motion sick we spent the night in a motel room instead of the camper. Mind you, only my mom had ever been motion sick before and only my mom has really had an issue since, That night my head twisted and turned all night and I had trouble keeping the bed still! lol. the area is gorgeous but I vowed to never drive across WV again. Maybe the new interstate would be much better trip as far as the motion sickness. All thses images are from the internet because ours were no good at all.
