We love our country and are blessed everyday to live in a place with the freedoms so many others will never know. It’s because of the men and women in our military, past, present and future that we are able to enjoy every minute of each day with the liberties guaranteed to us under our Constitution. The men and women of our armed forces take an oath to serve and protect our Constitution from all enemies ensuring we don’t lose our individual rights and liberties as Americans. May we never forget their sacrifices and may we never take for granted all they do for us and our great country.
In October 2011, we adopted our very first solider through the Adopt a US Soldier organization. Her name was Amber and she Specialist in the US Army and deployed to Afghanistan. These photos show some of the fun and yummy goodies we sent in the Valentine’s care package. You both did a great job creating handmade cards and baking a giant heart shaped oatmeal raisin cookie. Amber emailed many times thanking our family for doing something so special for her and that it made being a away from home a bit easier.
