LOVE this piece and the colors you got on the Blue Fern have such a vintage feel to them. Also love the florals you added - gorgeous page and thanks for the insight into this brilliant woman.
An absolutely amazing page, Alice! I can't even begin to tell you how much I love it. The photo of your mom is GORGEOUS, and you scrapped it sooooooo beautifully. The wreath of flowers is very creative and just fabulous. You created a beautiful memory here to last forever, my friend!

I sure love the marker colors you chose, and how they look on chipboard! This is such a cool keepsake of your mom~ Beautifully done~
Wonderful memories of your mother. Lovely tribute to such a bearutiful lady. I only wish I knew my mother growing up. I always wondered what it would have been like to have a real "Mom"
Alice this is so beautiful. What a stunning photo of your mother, and you've framed it beautifully. I love that vine frame and what great work coloring it.
Amazing job.. Ur so proud about ur mom and this is a very good to show it. I love the wreath very beautiful. I have pictures of grama like this but they like cardboard. They are super old dont know if i cut put any embellishments or flowers wount like for them to get damaged.
This is so beautiful and I love your circle of flowers surrounding your Mums beautiful photo!! I have always found that colouring chipboard with copics didn't produce the same colour either but you have blended the colours beautifully to match the other flowers used!! I loved reading your description and she was quite an achiever!!
Alice, this page is beautiful and I so love that you do some story telling....that is special! The wreath and flowers are lovely and what a fabulous pic of your mom!!!!
Terrific, I just love the viney wreath and all the flowers. Beautiful design. Your Mom and mine have a lot in common. Mom thought that being a great Secretary was a higher calling.
Very beautiful framing with the wreath and the cut circle from MS.....also great how you included the mini document. Beautiful layout, and a very lovely photo of your Mom!!!
Such a sweet story and the layout is just beautiful done! I am gonna look what kind of circle cutter that is, you are writing about. Because I dont have a cutting machine. by the way: you look very much like your mother. The shape of the face, nose , and cheeckbones , really amazing.
i am the same like eleele i gesso the chippboard first then i paint them in ink or copic or whats on the desk...
love this layout so amazing stunning beautiful awesome details wow
Your mum is very beautiful and you made a pretty lo. Sometimes when I am dispappointed with colors, I take a sponge and prime slightly the dark areas with gesso. Never tried Copic on chipboard, usually I color them with chalk inks or acrylic paints, but before that I prime it with gesso too.
This is my mother's HS graduation picture. She graduated in June 1932 at the age of 15, having skipped 2.5 grades. I also included a mini copy of her graduation certificate.
My mother was definitely college material, but had to get a job to help support her family. She had taken a commercial course, but jobs were hard to find in 1932 and her first job was behind the cosmetic counter in five and ten cent store. She was able to move on and get a job with a New York City maritime law firm working in the secretarial pool. One day she was called in to work for one of the partners. Because he was so impressed with her skills, he requested that she become his personal legal secretary.
The wreath is Blue Fern raw chipboard. I was out of my comfort zone coloring it with Copic markers. I really had no control over the colors, because it looked much darker when applied, and even after it dried was a lot darker than the Copic marker on paper. I used a lot of flowers on the top to soften the effect. I think most of them were Prima. I cut the inside paper doily with the new Martha Stewart circle cutter that I bought form HSN.
